Show Me! : A Dog Showing Primer December 6, 2001 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is an excellent primer for the novice dog exhibitor. If you want to get involved in showing dogs, I recommend you start with this book. It is written so both the younger handler and adult will find it useful. The basics are well covered, and there is additional information on how to solve some of the problems that may occur in the show ring. Overall, it is an excellent resource and I highly recommend it.

This book was chose to be on the prestigious 'DogRead' as a book selection of the month. We only do 12 books a year and this was September 2001. The author comes on line for the whole month to answer questions on the book. It was very well received by our 3000 member email group. The author was very knowledgeable and easy to understand even though also very in depth.treshell owner DogRead http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DogRead
A Great Beginning Attitude July 18, 2001 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Ms. Coile did a wonderful job for the beginner to the world of show. Not only did she mention what to do, she highlighted a lot of common mistakes with pictures for illustrations. One of the greatest aspects of this book was the attitude of upbeat, make sure you enjoy the shows and don't become petty. After reading this book you understand more what the judge is wanting to see and I was more able to handle the dog and place her better in the ring.
Excellent resource for novice June 25, 2001 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is an OUTSTANDING resource, especially for the novice who would like to enter this wonderful, frustrating, exciting sport. I have recommended this book to a friend who is getting started....I certainly wish I would have had this when I started my show career. This is by far and away better than any book I've seen about showing dogs, and I've read them all. The format is easy to manage, written in a style that is easy to comprehend, and very comprehensive. This will save you months if not years of "toiling in the trenches." Showing dogs is not inexpensive, so why not give yourself the best information possible? I wholeheartedly endorse this book!
Learning the show circuit June 4, 2001 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wonderful book examining and explaining all aspects of the show dog world. This book can quickly become a ready reference to carry with you to dog shows as well as reading and reviewing at home. The information contained within its pages is accurate and up to date. The superb layout allows you to access a topic with ease. Clear illustrations accompany the text. The author writes like a friend not withholding secrets and always encouraging the novice.
