I love this book. Very informative with clear step by step instructions on how to groom different dogs. Offering good information for the beginner with colour pictures.

I found the book to be far too general and no Bichon Frise's were in there. It really hasn't been too useful to me.
SOMEWHAT INFORMATIVE October 13, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
ITS AN OKAY BOOK, IM SURE THERE IS MORE INFORMATIVE BOOKS AVAILABLE. TELLS YOU THE BASICS ON TRIMMING EVERYTHING BUT THE BODY. TELLS YOU ABOUT TRIMMING THE UNDERCARRIAGE,TRIMMING THE BACKEND AND NAILS, BUT NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART(THE BODY).
I was a little disappointed July 24, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The book covers what you will need, and the steps for grooming are clear. But some instructions like "scissor the tail into a full, round pom-pom" are OK, but I need directions for HOW to make a pom-pom on my poodle's tail. And it's great to know that my pekingese needs to have his tummy shaved, but HOW do I get him to stand on his hind legs to let me do it? And how do I cut the hairs at the tip of my pomeranian's ears when she keeps trying to bite the scissor? I'm not sure this is a "beginner's" book. It would be a great quick reference book for someone who has a grooming shop and needs to look up the clipping pattern for a schnauzer or a cocker spaniel as a refresher before she starts clipping the dog. I'll have to keep looking for a book that is even more basic.
a great how-to! July 9, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've learned how to cut my dog's nails. Did it! No Problem! Now I'm waiting for the dog's clippers to arrive so I can groom him myself instead of paying $50.00 each time I bring him to the grommer. That's me now!!!
