Easy to use November 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Easy recipes, lots of good info...I recommend checking with your vet also to make sure vitamins/minerals are where they should be for your particular pet

This is a straightforward, easy to read and follow book about how to greatly improve the health of companion animals by simply feeding non trash which most bagged / canned foods are. Despite of what the labels and commercials show or what the vet tries to peddle on you. Andi Brown used her experience with her cat's ill health and the path to recovery to show : garbage in garbage out.No more excuses , you either spend money preventing ill health by feeding a proper diet or you will put more veterinarian's grandkids thru college. No human would be healthy eating Wheaties twice a day for 10 years, much less the horror show in a bag that is most pet foods.
Great idea but not for households on limited budget November 1, 2007 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a book that gives you ideas to cook for your cat or dog for health or holistic reasons, this book is great to use for that purpose. It includes great explanation about different foods, commercial pet food and the difference to home cooking. The only problem is (as usual) that only households can live by that which have enough money and don't move a lot (boarding problems).
For us as a military family it is just not feasible to spend the money to feed our two dogs and one cat like that, especially not during moves from one post to another.
Excellent & Helpful August 23, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Found this book very helpful in switching my dogs to healthy foods. Recipes are easy and most products are easy to find. For those who want to switch their pets to a better diet but are lost on what they should be eating, I recommend the book for it's easy to follow, step by step program. My dogs are really happy with the book as well!
what an awaking August 20, 2007 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
The nicest part of this book is that it really helps. It does not spend time trashing others, it just helps heal. My 10 year old bichone has been on the chicken stew diet for about two weeks. She woke up! She runs and chases the others. She looks thinner, and her eyes look clear and alert. I have learned a lot by reading and following this book. I am thankful.
