GREAT GUIDE December 27, 2007 I love this book, I keep it in my bag and read it on my way to and from work. I find myself going back to it all the time and using it as a reference. With a Husky you can never know what they are doing next. This book helps keep a eye open on what they are thinking or plan on doing.
GREAT USER GUIDE.
Siberian Huskies for Dummies September 27, 2007 Siberian Huskies for Dummies is an awesome book, it was very helpful indeed. Its not just for dummies though which is even better. It is very helpful for those of us who need a few points in the right direction. It is very detailed and explains things well. The book has some beautiful colour photos too. It has been my bible over the last week or so. I highly recommend that potential husky owners, or even the old ones, buy this book...it will help you out greatly.
Top notch despite the name. June 8, 2007 I recommend this book to all of my new owners and especially anyone that adopts a rescued Siberian. The book is easy to read and well explained. Some Siberian books out there drag on about topics you don't need to know causing the owner to put the book down. New Siberian owners need to read the book from cover to cover; best done before they bring their dog home. You will be much better prepared for your little ball of fluff and cuteness. Hopefully being better prepared will dis wade perspective puppy owners who really won't get along with the breed after they loose the cute puppy phase. Think before you buy. They are a 13-15 year project and they don't get easier. -S Redwood Siberians
Siberian Huskies for Dummies Review February 16, 2007 This was a good introductory book for new Husky owners who want to learn all about their temperament and how to care for them. Training techniques were very useful; although be advised that it takes time to train a puppy. We found out quickly that Siberians (as the book says) are very playful and have lots of energy. Tiring them out will ensure a good nights rest for parents.
Get this book first - and read others if you still have questions. One-on-one experience with your new Siberian is the most valuable training tool.
Learning about the Siberian January 17, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have a young Siberian with 1/2 Golden Reteriver. After reading this book, I was able to understand, while in training classes, she was so good at tasks, but very stubborn on others - that is the Husky trait. The other traits, of affection, quickness, hardly any barking, less the doggy smell when she gets wet, the ability to be in tune with young children and and ability to play with dogs, still amazes me. She loves the outdoors, but enjoys inside as much. Because, she has high energy and requires at lot of walking, playing, etc.,every day, rain, snow, sleet (her favorites)it is such a joy to be with her. So just a reminder, this type of dog takes a lot of work - as the book states. Training, should start as soon as possible, it takes time, especially with a husky, who has a mind of its own makes a happier dog.
