Bought two dogs recently, a yorkie and a basenji, this book broke it down to deal with ANY type pf dog. Real simple to read, and you and your dog/puppy learn so much along the way. Tried to read the older version of this book, and found that this book is better. It keeps your attention, and gets to the point.

Let me begin by saying that the authors manage to deliver at least a few good points on dog behavior and training (overall) throughout the book; however, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who hasn't at least a little (good) background knowledge of dogs before reading the ideas of the authors. I personally found the authors' style of writing rather displeasing, making it difficult to finish the book. I had high hopes for this book, based upon the previous reviewers' rankings.

This book should definitely be required reading prior to getting a puppy. It is full of good information that makes life for you and your puppy much happier. This book is easy to read and will be the kindest thing that you could ever do for you and your puppy.

I purchased this book shortly before bringing home my first puppy. It was very readable and has been invaluable during this challenging period. I bought 4 other books on this subject at the same time but, this is the one that helped the most. If you only buy one book to help with puppy and dog training this should be it:)
