I like the way this book is written for ALL audiences in mind, from the proud pug owner to people who breed and show their pugs to the potential pug owner. The history of this breed is given; pugs were the cherished pets of Chinese nobility. Indeed, there is something poignantly regal about this breed, from their lovable, mashed in looking faces to their double curled tails.

This book is a wonderful introduction to the pug breed. I have never seen more adorable photos! It covers all basic information on pugs, such as breed characteristics, health problems, and basic care info. The only problem I had with the book is that it was a little too basic. After reading, I found myself wanting more information on pug personalities and health info. I thoroughly enjoyed the book for what (I believe) it was designed to be: a light, fun intro to the world of pugs.

This book is a must have if you are going to purchase a pug or if you are just curious if they are the right type of dog for you. This book covers just about everything you would need to know about your Pug and how to take care of him. It covers the origin of the Pug, where to find Pugs and price, how to spot an unhealthy puppy or dog, what age is the right age for you(should you adopt a puppy, adolesent, or adult), grooming and special care for Pugs, and so much more!! The picutures are wonderful and the author really lightens things up with his personal experiences with his own Pugs(8 in total), he also have seven cats!!

If you love a pug, want a pug, or had a pug, you need this book. Not a large book, but so much love for the breed was put into this that it towers over any other pug book I've ever seen. The focus is on pugs and pugs only. Learn how to muzzle your pug! First aid, nail care, keeping the stop clean! Some charming pug photos are included, my favorite being eight pugs in a minivan. Well worth the price...don't miss it!!
