Best little book for a complete guide! September 1, 2008 I am thoroughly impressed and completely satisfied with this book. I bought it based on customer reviews and they were right. It is very good at specifically describing many of the nuances of Rottweilers. Don't let anyone tell you... "all breeds are the same it's just the way you train them." Most rotts have similar tendencies. This book was very helpful in preparing me for each stage.
Preparing for my rotty pup June 19, 2008 Have had rotties for the last 25 years and this time I wanted to use a different approach in preparing for our new rottweiler female pup. This book has certainly identified areas one should be aware off with regards to puppy-proofing the home as well as getting the pups attention from an early stage onwards. Many Rottweiler specific traits are discussed and I have found to be extremely helpful. This book is easy reading and a terrific resource for any serious Rottweiler owner.
Very informative and easy to read January 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book has very brief and to the point chapters. I have owned dogs for over 20 years but this book gave good insight to why particular behaviors occur and how to modify the behavior. This book offers practical training and obediance methods that even beginner dog owners can follow and understand.
Do you want to have a puddle or a Rottweiler? December 14, 2007 0 out of 8 found this review helpful
Do you want to have a puddle or a Rottweiler? I've bought a few basic books about Rottweiler to teach my dog the basics. I am very happy to say that I have a wonderful puddle, not a Rottweiler! He is a wonderful companion dog (for old ladies), not aggressive, very sociable,...etc. Do not "abuse" your dog, don't kick him, don't make him be scared of you...etc. Really? I wouldn't recommend the "operant conditioning" as described in these books, unless you want a really stupid dog with no balls at all.
great book September 13, 2007 is agreat book have a lot of ideas on how to train your rottweiler but i think it should have more information on this breed
