WONDERFUL! January 7, 2006 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
This book as LOTS of info on the Aussie like health/nutrition, basic training, history, behavior... well, like the title says! It has a neat chapter on the different activities you can do with your Aussies like different competitions. Another whole chapter on training for working and a very informative chapter on service training.
This would be a great little book to check out the breed to make sure you want an Aussie in the first place. Also, if you just adopted a puppy or adult and need some quick good info before you go off to buy that $45 Aussie book :)
It's easy reading for adults AND kids!

This is the best Austrailian shepred book ever from grooming to traing all filled with great stuff for you and your Aussie.

This book is well worth reading and is truly breed specific, unlike a few of the other books available which are merely generic puppy pamphlets with a few specific breed pictures thrown in. Worse yet, they dedicate much of the space to filler material such as thinly cloaked advertisements for certain dog products. This book keeps clear from all of this and is 100% pure beef!! I wouldn't feed my pup filler material;why should you pay for and read "sawdust"?

This book is a very handy resource! It is very thorough on the Australian Shepherd and I would recommend anybody that has one to read this book.
