A "must" for all new toy breed owners. April 26, 1999 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Prior to beginning this book, I anticipated a book full of cute observations of Toy Breeds. However, I quickly found a book full of pertinent information concerning the health and well-being of our Toy Breed dogs. Many times in the past, I would hear of a health problem of one of these breeds and have no idea what that problem entailed for the dog's overall prognosis and recovery. This book is comparable to having a mini-encyclopedia of every health question you could think of. It is an excellent resource for every Toy Breed owner. I highly recommend adding it to your canine library. It has a prominent position in mine, and will be well worn very quickly. Teresa Dean
You won't find this information anywhere else! March 30, 1999 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Darlene Arden has packed a Ph.D. in the "toy" dog into this book! Anyone working with dogs in any capacity needs this easily read, instant education into how the "toy" differs from larger breeds. For the toy-dog owning population, it is a "must read". As a matter of fact, anyone considering purchasing a "toy" breed absolutely must read this book first.
Details are just perfect with Darlene Arden's Book! March 5, 1999 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
<< My accolades to you, publisher and your printer! You page designs are clean, logical, and type are all compatable showing warmth and fit to your writing skills! The cover design is artistic and says it all to everyone. The graphic designer did a wonderful creation here. Lastly, I know, the binding job is excellent; just open book half way and it stays open like the "rock"! (Not the cheap binding that is so common place in today's books.)I forgot to tell you I was a typographer for ten years. I was a 'printer's devil' under my Father! =) >>
I highly recommend this didactic work from Darlene Arden!!! March 4, 1999 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The Irrepressible Toy Dog by Darlene Arden is a fantastic work on our little friends. I could not put the book down until I read it from the beginning to the end. The photos are excellent in quality and well worth the cost of the book alone without the wonderful insights and research results that the author gives us in this wonderful book. My experiences with my two Maltese dogs which are my preferrence in toy dogs are now put to words by this very loving and talented author on Toy Dogs! I highly recommend this didactic work from Darlene Arden for any owner of a Toy Dog.
Instruction book for daily reference. February 22, 1999 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Being the owner of a Toy Dog for the first time is a challenge - sometimes frightening. Darlene's book answers my questions completely and has been such a help, I keep it on my cocktail table for daily reference. This is a perfect gift for a new "toy" owner.
