Wow! Great tool! April 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is it! Five stars quality! We got "The Puppy Whisperer" with the hope of getting an overall guide to training our new puppy full of energy. We were amazed at how detailed and full of great advice this book is. Paul Owens explains the bare bones of dog training technique while maintaining a style full of warmth and compassion which makes for a perfect combination helping to train the puppy to be an obedient and loving companion. Definitely recommended for people who want an easy to use tool and a serious method. Ruy Folguera
Great Book March 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am not a professional dog trainer and found this book to be very helpful in dealing with some basic behavioral issues I have been having with my goldendoodle. It gives good direct instructions on how to deal with specific problems. It is far better than a few other books I have read rectently, but you may want to look at "Puppy Perfect" by Sarah Hodgson as some of its training methods seemed more practical than this one.
The Puppy Whisperer March 2, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I thought that the book was very good. I have been using the training guides on our new puppys. It is a slow process but we are getting there. So I guess you can say we are a work in process. I know you will enjoy this book very much. And has some very helpful advise on working with your dog. When I have a problem I refer back to it often. Kathleen
A Fantastic Resource for Raising a Happy, Healthy Pup! January 28, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The Puppy Whisperer is the only book you need to raise a happy, well-adjusted and well-trained puppy. Paul and Terry have made this book so simple and easy to follow. They take you step by step through the whole "Puppy Experience" from selecting the right pup for your lifestyle, setting up your household, choosing and training the behaviors you want your dog to exhibit, problem-solving and health, safety and nutrition issues. The best part is that Paul's methods come from a place of compassion, understanding and kindness. There's no yelling, harsh corrections or nasty choke chains- just basic common sense. This book makes it so easy to help you help your puppy become the dog you've always wanted. I highly recommend The Puppy Whisperer and the Dog Whisperer.
