Bad Dog Marley February 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read the adult version and loved it. I am a dog lover but you do not have to be to love this book. My grandchildren love it!!
Great Book for Lab owners December 21, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this book for my daughter for Christmas. We have a yellow lab so it was a perfect gift.
Children's book is not the same as the original! December 18, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just finished reading 'Marley & Me' and I really enjoyed it, although found some parts to be very slow, but all in all, a great dog-lovers book. I bought this book for my friend's 4-year old son, who has a yellow lab and loaned me the original book to read. I was surprised to see that all the characters names were different. But, I think that children (especially those who love dogs, as I do!) will like and appreciate all the antics of a "bad dog".
An absolute delight for children December 4, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Not only did my 2 kids find this book hilarious, but they both asked me to come to their classes and read it. They are 7 and 4. Both groups laughed and laughed while I was reading the book. It got them talking about their dogs and brothers and moms and whatever else. They want me to come back and read it again and the teacher wants to add this book to her collection. If you are a dog person, you'll especially love this read.
Doesn't Matter What You Call It... November 20, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is GREAT! My 6 year old son laughs hysterically at this book. Any child who owns or loves dogs will identify with Marley...he is totally mischevious but completely endearing.
The reviewers who are focusing on the ridiculous "issue" of calling Marley a "bad dog" as a basis for their bad reviews are utterly misguided. Who cares what the title is or that they say "Bad Dog, Marley" when they scold him? Regardless of whether you say "Bad dog, Marley" or "No, no Marley" or "Marley, you're the smartest dog in the universe," your tone and underlying message to the dog would still be the same and the dog would perceive them the same. A dog doesn't care about semantics in a scolding.
