Amazon.com In the second season of The Dog Whisperer, Cesar Millan shows his breadth of abilities of working with all kinds of problem pooches, gently asserting his dominance over the dogs and gaining their trust. For example, pity poor Booker. The handsome Hungarian Vizsla was born in a quiet pocket of rural Southern California, and ever since moving to bustling downtown Long Beach with his doting owner has been terrified of, well, pretty much everything. On his daily walks, Booker cowers, lurks, bolts, and otherwise is utterly miserable at the sight of baby strollers, rollerbladers, a random garbage can that wasn't there yesterday. Enter Millan, who's able to coax Booker out of his paralyzing fear--in part by physically holding his tail out from between his legs. This position "makes him feel pride," Millan says, and sure enough, Booker begins to hold his head up, too, and act calmer. In some cases the transformations are nothing short of incredible. Buddy ("the Biter"), a Papillon-corgi mix, is a sweet, loving dog one minute, and a savage biting machine the next. After seeing how Buddy treats his owners, you wouldn't want to get into the same room with him, yet Millan gently approaches the dog and sits on the floor next to him, inching closer until he's touching a very mellow-looking Buddy. "Walk with a dog who's in a traumatic state," Millan advises, "and then when they calm down, show the love." And not a minute before. The boxed set includes five discs of the season's episodes, and extras including three new unseen stories, Millan's essential tips for dog owners (not to be missed) and a behind-the-scenes featurette. --A.T. helped me with my Rottie June 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had 6 Rottweilers in my life...and then I got Brian. Most trainers like to teach dogs how to sit, come, walk on a leash, etc. Brian was extremely aggressive toward other dogs, actually dragging me to the ground, and was recommended by several trainers that he be put down. My vet strongly disagreed and told me about Cesar Millan. I watched each episode 2-3 times closely watching the miracle man work. Each time I paid close attention to the behavior of the dog, Cesar's actions, and the owner's behavior. Well it took me 4 months but Brian now walks beside me and simply ignores everyone but me. I AM pack leader! and my dog loves me for it!
I Love this guy!! June 10, 2008 Cesar is the BEST dog trainer in the world!! I love his shows so much I bought Season 1 and Season 2. He really shows its not the dogs-its the owners who treat their dogs like they are children!! Dogs need to be dogs!! If I'm watching his show and my adult kids come by-they stay and watch and NEITHER of them have dogs!
Tons for the money May 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As usual Cesar comes thru. there is so much info here it took several days to watch all the CDs. I can only take so many snarling barking dogs at one streatch. Lots of repetition but that's what makes it sink in so it becomes second nature. A+++
wonderful way to see the episodes again for specific problems May 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love to be able to review past episodes as each time one sees it one can see more things once you see the energy change in Cesar to match the dogs energy
Great reference DVD matched with his book "Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan" an index guide relating a behaviour problem with a specific episode.

Better than The Complete First Season April 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this season set after purchasing the first season set. When comparing the two, I believe the second complete season is even better than the first. Cesar's methods are so simple in many ways, but really do make a difference. I have been able to improve my two dogs' behavior by following his methods. It truly is almost like magic. If you are debating about whether to purchase season two or season one, I would choose season two, although both are excellent.
