Product Description What does family fun mean to you? Crafts? Recipes? Party ideas? Travel tips? FamilyFun magazine dishes up these and more boredom-defying activities in over 180 splashy, colorful pages. Geared toward parents with young children, this energetic magazine promises to enrich the lives of families. Offering a "we've been there, we know" sort of comfort to parents, folksy first-person articles let parents know they're not alone. A sense of community is expanded further in the "My Great Idea" section--culled from readers' letters--that suggests kid-tested ideas for everything from summer games to rainy-day projects. Homeschoolers will find plenty to ponder as well--a winter issue, for example, describes how a snowflake takes shape, then suggests a paper snowflake-making project. Reviews of digital games, books, videos, and DVDs, written by industry experts, help parents feel up to the minute. FamilyFun is positively inspirational to parents who want to shake up the routine and keep the magic in a family

Something Great For Every Family July 3, 2008 From seasonal crafts, sick days, and parenting tips for various child issues "Family Fun" offers it all! The ideas are fairly inexpensive, and typically easy to follow. Some activities require more adult input than others! This is a hands on magazine, where parents oversee the suggested ideas. Though kids may like the colored closeups of activities. It has a good mix for kids of all ages. I haven't come across any babyish crafts, though somewhat tailored to youngsters. Anyone could create these works, with pride. Birthday parties and holiday celebrations are always a challenge. This magazine gives parents the confidence to pull off a hit, to amaze tots to the parents bringing them. Be it the creative display of eats to decorations it is covered here. This magazine gives families insight into planning a trip. Breaking down the trip, helps organize, and plan more efficiently. Kids health, and well being is vital to their development. Home and personal, school conflicts,or any other issue is listed.
Boredom buster!!! May 26, 2008 This magazine will help you do activities for holidays, school breaks, and the summer holidays. Our family always gets ideas for gifts to make for family and friends. Often we use the ideas in this magazine (games, recipes, crafts) to erase the word boredom from our vocabulary. We save every issue and have subscribed for over five years! We just renewed our subscription for another three years! We love it and would recommend this magazine to any parent who wants to do more with their children!
Extended Family Fun May 16, 2008 My children are all grown up and gone, but I am greatly enjoying my subscription to Family Fun. I saw my first copy in a doctor's office, went searching at local stores and could not find the magazine, so I went to my old faithful Amazon and found it. I work with children's classes a lot at church and have found many ideas that I've been able to use or adapt for use with "my kids." I enjoy simple crafts and have discovered a lot of really cute ones in this great magazine. I've recently even seen some simple games that we can use for VBS this summer. Thanks, Family Fun!!
Arrived QUICKLY - Fun magazine May 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I know this is a review for the mag - but so many comments on magazines are complaining about their arrival time (this one too) that it may be useful - ordered 4/11/08 - delivery estimate 7/11/08. First magazine arrived 5/5/08 - e.g. less than a month after ordering!
I have had Family Fun in the past. It is a really nicely done (Disney owned) magazine - hence the re-order. The one thing I like about this magazine is that you do not have to be rich to utilize most of their suggestions/ideas. The crafts are cute and usually realistic for the recommended ages. There are often ideas that are suitable for the whole 3+ family. Many issues have spotlights on travel and things to visit - they change location and don't focus on all the hot spots all the time. For instance, I learned about Safari West - a Safari "zoo" near Santa Rosa, CA - not exactly a typical tourist trap (at least for kids). It does have a Disney slant - which can be a good thing (wholesome etc...) but don't expect a great deal of focus on diversity or multicultural suggestions (e.g. activities/places to visit). Look at this magazine basically true to its title - focusing on things families can do together.
