| Customer Reviews:
I love this book, it is personable, my second favorite dog book! January 3, 2007 This book has heart warming accounts from the owner's of different Spaniel breeds, making it a personable book. About the Welsh Springer Spaniel, "Beware of the Welsh Springer's Houdini-like qualities-he is remarkably agile and inventive when it comes to escaping. Climbing ladders, opening doors, and leaping over fences are all part of his repertoire", writes the author.
Julia Barnes did a good job. There are plenty of heart warming and beautiful photographs, very important for the would be Spaniel owner such as moi.
Very important in 2007, the author informs on "Health Concerns" for each Spaniel breed. With the English Springer Spaniel for example, the author writes under Health Concerns, "Canine rage syndrome: This condition, where the dog becomes aggressive momentarily-and for no apparent reason, has been seen in some American-bred dogs. To date, diet change and hormone therapy have proved the most effective treatments."
