Book Description The world's friendliest dog is the Golden Retriever, also counted among the most talented and popular dogs in America. Renowned for his lustrous golden coat, his buoyant personality and his lusty desire to hunt, the Golden Retriever makes an ideal pet dog for young and old alike. His winning ways and easy-to-train temperament account for his great popularity and success in every "field." Written by Golden Retriever breeder, trainer and author, Nona Kilgore Bauer, this book provides the much-needed factual information about Golden Retrievers and their characteristics, history and standard, as well as puppy selection, feeding, training, preventative health care and behavior of the breed. The new owner will welcome the author's experience and advice about puppy-proofing the home, housebreaking and preventing puppy problems. In addition to an authoritative, comprehensive text, this book presents over 135 photographs in full color, which prove to be as informative as they are attractive.

Golden Retriever Kennel Club Dog Breed Series January 15, 2007 This book was purchased for a child 10 yrs of age, he and I read the book together going over different pointers for raising and learning about the Golden Retriever we got as a puppy. It was extremely informational and I recommend it to anyone who is going to get a puppy of the same breed.
