Product Description
Evoking a dog's-eye view of the world, this heartwarming photo journal and tribute chronicles the life of a special golden retriever, Rufus, from his days as an abandoned pet to those as a beloved "dog" photographer. Together Rufus and his owner travel the surrounding neighborhood, and, with camera strapped to his collar, Rufus "snaps" photos of his pals and the people, places, and things that he finds of particular interest during his daily jaunts. The often humorous photos and accompanying narrative capture the reactions the other dogs and humans have to the dog photographer and present Rufus's favorite beaches, parks, and city scenes from a uniquely different perspective. Dog lovers in particular will identify with the remarkable bond of trust and loyalty that dog and owner had for each other.

A great gift book for any dog lover ! August 17, 2004 Neat book! All the pictures were taken by the dog, Rufus. I'm a dog owner so I know these photos weren't staged. I've tried taking photographs of other dogs too, and the ones I took look nothing like these. Rufus must have been able to get real close, and they're all looking straight at him like "What theEE
The people shots are funny too, because you know they're all doing a double take. The story behind Rufus is kind of sad at the end, but it makes realize that there are lots of dogs like Rufus out there that just need a home. We all need to be responsible pet owners to help control the animal population!
Highly recommended! This would make a great gift book for any dog lover.
A Sweet Story August 9, 2004 "What a sweet story!"...was my first reaction after reading this book. Reiji Kanemoto presents the special relationship forged between him and his dog Rufus in a charming, poignant, and often humorous way. All the photographs, by Rufus and his "dad" Reiji alike, are wonderful! Anyone who has or has had a dog will surely enjoy reading this book. It is great for children, too!
